The revitalization of post-punk by the bands The Bellicose Minds, Spectres, Aube, We Are Hex, Liar In Wait and even the return of elder bands like Altar De Fey has me thrilled as it is not a genre that has ever been over saturated and needs more artists. There appears to be a trend of crust punks finding their inner goth and running with it.  Masses are no exception as they abandon their blasts of hardcore, anarcho-punk to to give way to a much more Bauhaus influenced sound.  They are a strong addition to the list as they implement all the pieces necessary; foundational bass lines, pounding, tom-heavy, drums, ample, drone technique guitar playing, howling, effect-processed vocals, required, cold and bleak production. All the components are present and make for a very entertaining 4-song 7” that really leaves you wanting more. This wave of post-punk resurgence is exciting.
